This is the Senior Simian speaking. I started the original iPrimate blog – Articulate[d] – in early 2009. I had fun doing it. I enjoyed the catharsis of logging my primal thinking for the world to see, I got a few chips off my shoulder, and I learned a lot. The most important lesson I learned is that although blogging may encompass many things, it is absolutely about defining a personal brand – whether you like it… or not!
I like it. In fact, I liked it so much when I figured out that’s what it’s all about that I stopped doing it. Counter-intuitive? I hope so.
So, why am I back?
Because what I figured out is that if you are going to build a personal brand, you’ll want to do it with more than just a log of your primal thinking. The content needs to be supported with some context about who you are. In my case, am I really just some sorry monkey who likes to shoot his mouth off? Or, is there any evidence to support that – in one or two areas of human experience – I actually might know what I’m talking about? Convinced it was the latter, I decided to put my blog on hold, and develop a richer, more fully-branded web destination that would offer my ‘view from the trees’ – and a whole lot more!
And… so… this is it!
You’ve found your way to the blog-ish bit of www.iprimate.com. Welcome! And take a look around the rest of the place while you’re here.
Have a swingin’ time in the trees.
